DESCRIPTION:Course Introduction \nPython has been in high demand for an extended period due to several key reasons. Foremost\, it is highly productive compared to other programming languages such as C++ and Java. Python is widely recognized for its simple programming syntax\, code readability\, and natural language-like commands\, making it significantly easier and more efficient to code. As a general-purpose programming language often referred to as utilitarian\, Python is designed to be both easy to read and write. This characteristic makes it particularly popular among beginners looking to establish a career in software development. \nThis Python course is ideal for individuals aspiring to build a career in the software development sector. The course primarily focuses on Python 3 while also providing learners with an understanding of Python 2. This ensures that students are equipped with the necessary skills to work with legacy applications that are still in use by organizations relying on Python 2\, thereby enhancing their adaptability in the industry. \nPrerequisites \n There is no requirement of programming experience before joining this course. \n\nBasic computer literacy: Familiarity with using a computer\, installing software\, and basic text editing.\nIndividuals must have ability to use computer with ease and good typing skills.\nCuriosity and willingness to learn.\n\nCourse Objectives \n By the end of this course\, you will: \n\nUnderstand the fundamentals of programming\, focusing on Python’s syntax and structure.\nWrite simple to intermediate Python scripts to automate tasks and solve problems.\nGain proficiency in working with variables\, data types\, loops\, conditionals\, and functions.\nLearn how to manipulate data using lists\, dictionaries\, sets\, and tuples.\nExplore basic file handling\, error handling\, and debugging techniques.\nGrasp the basics of object-oriented programming (OOP) in Python.\nUtilise Python libraries for real-world applications\, including math\, file processing\, and string manipulation.\nBuild a foundation to explore more advanced topics like data science\, machine learning\, and web development.\n\nWho is this course for? \n\nBeginners: No prior programming experience is required. The course is structured to start from the basics and gradually build up your skills.\nIntermediate learners: Those with a basic understanding of programming concepts but new to Python.\nAnyone looking to use Python: Whether for automation\, scripting\, web development\, or data science\, Python’s simplicity and power make it useful in many domains.\n\nExams & Recommended Training \nVendors Certifications Opportunity (Python institute): \nAfter completing this course students can also proceed with following Python Institute certifications for the vendor’s certifications. \nPCEP – Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer Certification \nPCAP – Certified Associate in Python Programming Certification \nPlease note that the cost of these vendors exams will be borne by the learner and is not covered by the funding. \nSQA Framework: \nUpon successful completion of this course\, you will be eligible to sit for the PDA Software Development SCQF Level 7 exams.
